Basic Operations and Programming for Unity and Lamp Words for Life

PRC believes in providing robust language systems that are appropriate for those with advanced language and/or can be simplified to meet the needs of beginning communicators.  In this two-hour course, participants will learn about the Unity/LAMP Words for Life language systems as well as how to program and customize those vocabulary sets. The first segment will review the guiding principles of these language systems as well as provide hands-on practice finding these vocabulary sets.  The second segment will cover customizing and simplifying the vocabulary.  Hands-on practice is encouraged throughout the course, so come prepared to learn and practice.  Please note, this course is intended for those who are using the LAMP WFL vocabulary on an Accent product.  This course is not intended for those using the LAMP WFL app on an iPad.  This course briefly discusses the LAMP approach, but is not a LAMP training.

This course is a part of a series of courses to introduce school personel to a variety of AAC tools.  Region 4 does not endorse one product over any other product as all devices should be  individualized based on recommendations from current assessment and communication needs.
