The Math and Literacy Connection: Strategies for Integration in the Spanish Bilingual Prekindergarten Classroom

Learn strategies to explicitly introduce key mathematical skills (e.g., counting, shape and spatial reasoning, measurement, patterning, and classification) while teaching concepts that are associated with Spanish literacy: listening comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, verbal expression, phonological awareness, book and print knowledge, letter identification, and knowledge of literary forms (e.g., narrative, fiction, and informational texts). Session and materials costs are partially funded through state or federal grants.
