This training is for staff from districts and charters who will be utilizing the T-PESS model to appraise, evaluate and support principals.
Beginning with the 2016-17 school year, T-PESS is the Texas Education Agency's statewide system for principal evaluation.
T- PESS Refresher training clarifies what effective principals should know and be able to do, leading to increased consistency and rigor in the evaluation process. The system is intended to enhance communication between a supervisor and a principal with transparency, fairness, and constructive feedback. By using the results of the evaluation to guide their own professional development, all principals will be able to chart a course for professional growth, from the novice principal just beginning the journey of development to the experienced, as well as an effective school leader seeking to be influential throughout the profession.
NOTE: The T-PESS Refresher is for professionals previously trained in the 2-day T-PESS training and certified as T-PESS principal appraisers. The participant must have attained a T-PESS Appraiser Certificate.
