Higher-level Language Skills: What are they and how can I develop them in children with language disorders?
Laura Justice

Higher level language skills are those linguistic abilities that support comprehension of complex spoken and written texts; these include, for instance, inferencing, comprehension monitoring and text-structure knowledge, as well as academic vocabulary. This session discusses the development of these skills in children from early childhood into the primary grades, and describes evidence-based approaches for facilitating these for children with language disorders.
