National Presenter Series for Access to the General Curriculum
Assessment, Feedback, and Really Using Both of Them for Student Learning: Myth-Busting, Principles, and Practicalities with Rick Wormeli

The National Presenter Series for Access to the General Curriculum offers participants a unique opportunity to hear some of the leading national experts in education for struggling learners.  Participants will receive information on innovative strategies to support accessibility and proficiency for all learners including students with disabilities. The trainings support the Texas Teacher Standards and the Domains within the Texas Teacher Evaluation Support System (TTESS).  Join us for this unique and exciting opportunity.

Important Session Information:

Teaching is not a "gotcha" enterprise, yet many assessment approaches fall into that category. Join us for a provocative yet practical workshop in which we identify fundamental elements of pre-, formative, and common assessments and contrast them with elements of summative judgment. Critical to students' success, specific techniques for descriptive feedback, including reflective coaching, from formative assessment will be shared as well. We'll also emphasize how to assess/grade special education students in the regular classroom, clear and consistent evidence over time, rubric design, how teachers figure out what is important to teach, correlating assessments to objectives, becoming truly standards-based in grading, what this all means for re-learning and re-assessing, and dozens of formative assessment techniques. Let's live up to the promise of effective instruction and build a constructive approach to assessment, feedback, and learning in the modern classroom: Join us on January 8th, 2019!
