VAC and CTE Work-Based Learning: Redefining Roles and Responsibilities

Learn about the roles and responsibilities of the VAC including applicable laws, topics covered in career development classes, and VAC skills needed in classroom and community settings to support students on the job. We will review how the CTE requirements of work-based learning apply to students with disabilities and participants will gain an understanding of how the VAC instructional arrangement and job description fit into the work based learning continuum through Career and Technical Education. Through activities and handouts, participants will gain a better understanding of the expectations of the VAC. This session provides basic information and is focused on the new VAC, but experienced VACs can benefit as well. Session and material costs are partially funded through state or federal grants.
