Implicit bias, explicit effects: Where do we go now?





This session will review research on implicit bias and the relationship between student achievement and the application of exclusionary discipline in K-12 settings. Implicit bias will be situated within the historical context of legal statutes that have reflected and shaped norms in American schools. Participants will explore how to investigate their views and behaviors and learn tools to mitigate the adverse effects of implicit bias within schools.
