Reading aloud to children is one of the most important tasks we can do to develop successful readers and writers! It gives them the opportunity to hear fluent reading, to learn comprehension strategies, experience new vocabulary, and to practice phonological awareness and phonics skills in a fun way. Using the same read aloud books to develop early writing skills, is a great way for students to see the connection between reading and writing. In this session, participants will learn how children's literature can be used to develop early literacy skills in reading and writing and have access to activities to enhance the teaching experience in their classrooms.
This virtual training takes place in 2 sessions: Part 1 and Part 2. Participants are required to attend both sessions to receive credit.
**Note: This is an updated version of the training previously titled, Read-Aloud Round Up PK/K.
