Phonological Awareness (PK-1st)
Early Literacy

What is phonological awareness, and why is it important? In this session we will define phonological awareness and identify the skills students must develop in prekindergarten through first grade that serve as a foundation for literacy development. We will explore the phonological awareness continuum and identify developmentally appropriate instructional methods for supporting students in acquiring these skills.

Important Session Information:

Join us to learn about the Phonological Awareness continuum and its importance in early literacy development. Each step of the continuum will be explored with research and fun activities to support student learning in a high quality classroom. Participants will have access to ready-to-use activities and complete the course with knowledge on how to move students from playing with sounds to connecting them to letters for beginning reading and writing.
