Ethics in Telepractice: When the Rubber Meets the Road

This session will align the provision of speech-language pathology services via telehealth to Texas licensure regulations and code of ethics. Clinicians have communicated challenges during Covid-19 in providing effective and appropriate professional services using available technologies. Tips and techniques will be discussed to optimize synchronous video sessions and asynchronous options to ensure that the services provided by telehealth are performed with the same standards as in-person. This training will focus on the code of ethics, related laws and regulations, competencies, and professional standards that apply during telehealth/telepractice encounters at all times.

Important Session Information:

This session is approved for 2 TSHA CE hours for ethics for speech-language pathologists and speech-language pathology assistants when participants register with Region 4 ESC, register for the ZOOM session, and attend the session in its entirety. Partial credit will not be available. After attending the session, please email gayla.lutz@esc4.net to obtain the evaluation for the session. Upon completion of the evaluation, participants will receive the TSHA certificate of attendance. Access to the link for the session will be provided in the session confirmation when registration is completed. This session is partially funded through state and federal grants.
