Using Classroom Organization and Visual Supports for Students with Autism (Online)

Participants in this workshop will gain an understanding about the unique learning styles that affect the daily life of individuals with autism. The workshop will help participants develop an understanding of the four principles of the TEACCH methodology which include physical organization of the classroom, visual schedules, work systems, and visual structure that may be incorporated in the learning environment. The use of these visual supports helps to provide meaning and independent functioning while capitalizing on the individual strengths. The format of the workshop will include presentations and videos. Session and materials costs are partially funded through state or federal grants.
