Investigate Amber Waves of Prairie Grasses at the Deer Park Prairie

Learn about the Coastal Prairie Ecosystem including insects, grasses, forbs and invasive species. We will also study hydrology and our rich Texas History, all through a multi-disciplinary approach. Does your prairie contain enough insects to support a Chickadee clutch?  How about a Bob White Quail clutch?  Discover the many pollinators and other insects that are attracted to native plants with a STEM activity, which can be done in your local environment. The preserve protects 51 acres of original, native prairie in the heart of Deer Park.
