Join the Texas A&M Forest Service staff for
environmental education using the forest as a lens into the natural world
around us! You will explore different concepts using the multi-disciplinary
Project Learning Tree curriculum to bring these concepts to life. Forestry, wildlife,
habitats, adaptations, and more will be covered. You will also be introduced to
place-based learning we utilize at the W.G. Jones State Forest to introduce
students to an endangered species of woodpecker that lives here, including the
specialized ecosystem this bird needs to survive and how we manage the forest
habitat for this species. You will also use a nature observation journal to
gather data - we’ll teach you how to make one!
