Impactful Comprehension Strategies (ELAR TEKS Strand 2) for Special Education Teachers to Design Powerful Small Group Instruction
in Elementary





Do you have a student encountering barriers with reading comprehension as a result of his/her disability?  Metacognitive strategies lay the groundwork for foundational and advanced comprehension skills.  Come join us to build your toolbox of strategies to help design direct explicit instruction in metacognitive development. We will include a three – session series to cover all nine standards in ELAR TEKS Strand 2 (Comprehension Skills).  Session and materials costs are partially funded through state and federal grants.

Jan 20, Day 2 (virtual): (C) Make and confirm predictions, (H), Synthesize information to create new information, (D) Create mental Images

Jan 27, 2021, Day 3 (virtual): (F) Make inferences, (G) Evaluate Details, (I)  Monitor Comprehension

 

Children's literature and resources will be provided.
