ESC Coaching of Principal Supervisors is a Texas Instructional Leadership training that guides ESC TIL Coaches in developing strong systems and routines for regular support of district-level leaders, primarily principal supervisors, through short-cycle observation and feedback. Participants will review implementation support artifacts and identify a high-leverage area for coaching. Then, they will have the opportunity to apply the See it. Name it. Do it. coaching structure in preparation for coaching district leaders. Participants who are on track to become certified TIL trainers must meet all other TIL requirements and complete co-requisites prior to coaching district leaders as a part of the TIL program.
When working with customers, TIL trainings follow a year-long cohort model where campus leadership teams and their supervisors will attend a series of face-to-face trainings. Time will be provided during the face-to-face trainings to allow participants to practice the newly learned skills and receive real-time feedback before implementing the skills on their campuses. On-going, field-based coaching and support will be provided by the ESC to principal supervisors (utilizing the techniques learned in this training) as they support their campus leadership teams with TIL Implementation. This training utilizes the practices and principles in Paul Bambrick-Santoyo's Get Better Faster: A 90-Day Plan for Coaching New Teachers, Leverage Leadership 2.0, Driven by Data 2.0, and A Principal Manager's Guide to Leverage Leadership 2.0.
