Are you looking to enrich Tier 1 instruction? Is your classroom full of variability with diverse students who need differentiated support? You don’t have to do it all alone! Join us as we explore high-leverage instructional practices to increase academic engagement, a top 5 best practices for classroom management. In this session, participants will explore the high-leverage practice of providing scaffolded support. Scaffolded supports are powerful visual, verbal, and written strategies that are used temporarily to assist students in successfully completing tasks that they cannot yet do independently and with a high success rate. Explore how to use them flexibly; evaluate their effectiveness, and gradually remove them once they are no longer needed. Learn how providing scaffolded supports, will increase student engagement, reduce disruptions and help students be more committed to their own learning process. Participants will leave with ideas and examples that can be implemented immediately in the classroom.
*Note - Each session of the Supporting Diverse Learners to Increase Academic Engagement Series can be selected individually. You can choose to participate in one, two, or all sessions of the series, and you can attend in any order.
