2023-2024 ESC Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) Webinar Series
Reveal Their Story: Supporting the SLP Process of Individualizing Language and Communication Goals and Objectives as Part of Narrative Report Writing

  • This interactive webinar is a part of a series of webinars provided through a collaboration of the 20 Education Service Centers (ESC) since 2012, led by Region 10 ESC. These webinars feature highly respected presenters in the field of communication and are an excellent source of continuing education for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and other school staff. Join us in learning all year long through exceptional online opportunities. Reinforce your current knowledge and add new tools to your tool box.
  • These convenient live webinars can be accessed from your personal electronic device at the times specified. These live webinars are provided through a Zoom platform and will not be available for viewing at the Region 4 location. Participants will receive an email with a link to complete Zoom registration prior to the webinar. After completing the Zoom registration, participants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
  • TSHA CE hours will be available for SLPs that register, access the webinar, and watch the webinar in its entirety. A code will be provided during the session in order to access TSHA and receive your CE hours. A Region 4 Certificate of Attendance will be provided via email one to two weeks after the webinar once attendance is finalized and recorded. Please note that participants must select Region 4 when they complete their Zoom registration to ensure their attendance is recorded. This session is partially funded through state and federal grants.

Important Session Information:

School-based speech and language pathologists increasingly face the challenge of not only recognizing the full range of autism spectrum differences but also writing up their results using a positive, descriptive narrative and generating individualized language and communication goals. Participants learn to write narrative communication summary reports using the MIGDAS-2 visual framework and descriptive language. Sample Brain Style Profiles and excerpted narrative report samples will be discussed across age and ability levels. Participants will be taught how to organize suggested communication and educational supports and recommendations tailored to the student receiving the autism spectrum diagnosis across age and ability levels.
