Part 1: Collaboration & Conflict Management Across Classrooms
Description: Many educational decisions are based on trust built between professional partnerships within schools. However, even the strongest partnerships are bound to have some challenges. This session will assist paraprofessionals and special educators in learning how to create trusting professional partnerships so that students and families have successful school experiences. Additionally, we will discuss how to anticipate conflict and manage and repair relationships when conflict occurs.
Part 2: Meet Me at My Starting Line: Improving Student Behavior Through Strategy
Description: Getting to the root cause of challenging behavior is the first step in understanding why students do what they do. Disruptive and challenging behaviors don’t occur without reason, but getting to that root cause can be a bit of a mystery. In this session, educators will learn about the functions of student behavior and how to implement strategies to assist students in decreasing those challenging behaviors.
