Join this session to take a deep dive into the components necessary to build a classroom that promotes student independence, academic growth, communication, and overall success. This 2-day session will take you through the research-based Autism and Low Incidence Classroom Observation Tool (ALCOT) that guides teachers to set up classrooms with a solid environmental and academic foundation. Participants will 1) attend the 2-day professional development session to learn more about strategies that support student behavior, communication, and academic development, 2) set personal goals for the school year, 3) participate in a follow-up group consultation session to review goal progress, 4) and receive individual coaching. Session materials are partially funded with state and/or federal grants.
