Information:
Data Driven Instruction is Course 1 in a series of 5 micro-courses on the implementing blended learning. This course assumes you have already taken our introduction to blended learning course "Foundations of Blended Learning : Packing for the Journey". In it, we introduced the blended learning framework as well as explored the various classroom models for setting up blended learning in your classroom. If you've missed Foundations of Blended Learning: Packing for the Journey you can find it on our Events page here.
This micro-course builds on that work by solely focusing on Pillar 1 of the Blended Learning implementation continuum - Data Driven Instruction and Assessment.
In this course, we will address the following 6 learning objectives:
(1) Get clear on why building a data culture is vital for blended learning and start building an understanding of what a data culture is and isn't.
(2) Identify data culture shifts needed to prepare for blended learning
(3) Self-assess and reflect on the current data culture present on your own campuses.
(4) Understand the difference between the unit of data analysis at the classroom level and the student level and why this distinction matters to improve and personalize learning.
(5) Identify and prioritize data sources in preparation for blended instruction.
(6) Map concrete strategies for acting on student learning data in preparation for blended instruction.
