This multi-day training of trainers is designed to help educators build professional development capacity in understanding the why, what and how of the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework. Because every UDL implementation journey is different, and because there is variability within systems, the implementation of UDL in a particular organization will be unique. In this institute participants will be coached on strategies to deliver introductory UDL content. Building the capacity of facilitators within an organization to lead UDL content delivery and discussion will enhance an organizations ability to tailor systematic implementation efforts to the unique contexts of their organization. In this session participants will gain skills in the following areas: understanding the why, what and how of UDL, strategies for presenting UDL concepts, tools to support lesson design, and resources to deepen understanding of the research and implementation practices for the UDL framework. Participants will leave with resources (e.g. presentation, activities, action plans) to support them in their ability to deliver foundational UDL content to their colleagues as applicable to their role within their organization. Organizations are encouraged to send cross-curriculum teams to this session (e.g. General and Special Education Directors, Coordinators, Administrators, Instructional Coaches, and/or Curriculum Specialists for all content areas).
