This training will promote an understanding of the benefits in creating assistive technology tools to enhance life and education. In this session, participants will gain a foundational understanding of 3D printers and explore real world applications for use in a special education setting. Participants will label and compare different materials that can be used in making 3D objects and list safety considerations when using 3D printers to make these personalized AT tools. Online resources will be explored to discover premade, printable, digital files. Although this training will be utilizing the Ultimaker Brand 3D printer for hands on exploration and demonstration, principles are not product specific and can be applied to any 3D printer available to the participant.
