This one-hour, on-demand course is designed for school-based professionals to assist in the prevention of human trafficking. This course is approved by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services (HHSC). It satisfies the requirements of House Bill 2059 for certain health care practitioners, including speech-language pathologists and licensed specialists in school psychology, to complete an HHSC approved human trafficking prevention training course to renew their license.
As a result of this course, participants will be able to
1. Identify key terms, types of trafficking, dynamics, and vulnerability factors associated with human trafficking.
2. Identify a student-centered approach to the identification and assessment of human trafficking.
3. Identify the importance of the role of the school-based healthcare provider in the intervention and response to human trafficking.
