Lunch & Learn: New Educational Diagnostician Academy
Diagnostician Resources

Calling all new Educational Diagnosticians! Are you in your first three years as an Educational Dagnostician? ESC Region 4 has a new Educational Diagnostician Academy that will be focused on helping you understand the role of the Educational Diagnostician. During lunch-and-learn sessions, participants will review timely and pertinent information required for Educational Diagnosticians and engage in meaningful dialogue. Participants will also have time to network with other new Educational Diagnosticians serving in Region 4 area districts and charters. This session is aligned with the evaluation and properly constituted ARD component(s) of the TEA-required self-assessment and SPP Indicators 11 & 12.

Important Session Information:

  • Welcome to the New Educational Diagnostician Academy!

This series has been specifically designed to support your growth and development during your first years of working in the field. As a new educational diagnostician, you will be responsible for assessing and identifying students' learning needs, writing evaluation reports, managing ARD meetings, and assisting in the development of appropriate educational plans.

  • During these monthly lunch and learn virtual sessions, you will learn the fundamentals of assessment and ARD management and gain a comprehensive understanding of the tools and techniques used in identifying disabilities. You will also have the opportunity to network with other new diagnosticians and work closely with experienced professionals who will provide you with guidance and support as you navigate your first few years in the field.

  • Where can I find this?!   Where can I find that?!

This session is intended to provide an overview of two of the main resources integral to the roles and responsibilities of diagnosticians and ARD managers. During this interactive session, participants will explore the Texas Legal Framework and the new Texas Sped Support website.
