Attention New Educational Diagnosticians!

Are you in your first three years as an Educational Diagnostician? ESC Region 4 is excited to introduce the New Educational Diagnostician Academy, designed to support your understanding of this critical role.

Through interactive lunch-and-learn sessions, participants will explore essential and timely topics relevant to educational diagnosticians, engage in meaningful discussions, and gain practical insights. Additionally, this academy provides valuable opportunities to network with fellow new diagnosticians from districts and charter schools across Region 4.

This session aligns with the evaluation and properly constituted ARD components of the TEA-required self-assessment and SPP Indicators 11 & 12, ensuring you stay informed and compliant with state expectations.

Welcome to the New Educational Diagnostician Academy!

This academy been specifically designed to support your growth and development during your first years ofworking in the field. As a new educational diagnostician, you will be responsible for assessing and identifying students' learning needs, writing evaluation reports, managing ARD meetings, and assisting in the development of appropriate educational plans.

During these virtual sessions, you will learn the fundamentals of assessment and ARD management and gain a comprehensive understanding of the tools and techniques used in identifying disabilities. You will also have the opportunity to network with other new diagnosticians and work closely with experienced professionals who will provide you with guidance and support as you navigate your first few years in the field.

Are you assessing a student with a visual impairment? If not, then chances are that during your career as an educational diagnostician, you will!

This session will provide diagnosticians with everything they need to know about testing a student with a visual impairment from a certified VI specialist.
