In compliance with HB 2176, the SBOE created Parenting and Paternity Awareness (P.A.P.A.) Curriculum which shall be used in the district's high school health curriculum.
This training will address the following:
- parenting skills and responsibilities, including child support and other legal rights and responsibilities that come with parenthood
- relationship skills, including money management, communication skills, and marriage preparation.
- skills relating to the prevention of family violence.
In addition to using this curriculum in the health course, it can also be used in other courses such as CTE Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) and Health Science or by the school nurse and counselor.
