Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) (Virtual)

Beginning with the 2016-17 school year, T-TESS replaces PDAS as the Texas Education Agency's statewide provided option for teacher evaluation.

This is a 3 day training intended for current administrators who will be utilizing the T-TESS model to appraise teachers.

Completion of this training is one of the required steps to becoming a certified appraiser. Participants must also take and pass an online certification test annually.  Additionally, participants must also attend/have attended either Instructional Leadership Development (ILD) or the new Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) training in order to complete the required steps of becoming a certified appraiser and are encouraged to verify this information with their districts.

Important Session Information:

Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-Tess) is the Commissioner-recommended teacher evaluation system for Texas. It's a system designed by educators to support teachers in their professional growth and includes a goal-setting and professional development plan, an evaluation cycle and a student growth measure.

Completion of this training is one of the required steps to becoming a certified appraiser. Participants must take and pass an online certification test annually.

Additionally, participants must also attend/have attended either Instructional Leadership Development (ILD) or the new Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) training in order to complete the required steps of becoming a certified appraiser and are encouraged to verify this information with their districts.

Uninterrupted attendance at all 3 days consecutively is required.  Participants are requested to make arrangements in their schedule to attend the training in its entirety. Partial attendance of sessions does not satisfy the attendance or certification requirements.
