ESC Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) Webinar Series
Speech Therapy and Hearing Loss: Part 1- Conducting Ethical Evaluations

  • This interactive webinar is a part of a series of webinars provided through a collaboration of the 20 Education Service Centers (ESC) since 2012, led by Region 10 ESC. These webinars feature highly respected presenters in the field of communication and are an excellent source of continuing education for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and other school staff. Join us in learning all year long through exceptional online opportunities. Reinforce your current knowledge and add new tools to your tool box.
  • These convenient live webinars can be accessed from your personal electronic device at the times specified. These live webinars are provided through a Zoom platform and will not be available for viewing at the Region 4 location. Participants will receive an email with a link to complete Zoom registration prior to the webinar. After completing the Zoom registration, participants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
  • TSHA CE hours will be available for SLPs that register, access the webinar, and watch the webinar in its entirety. A code will be provided during the session in order to access TSHA and receive your CE hours. A Region 4 Certificate of Attendance will be provided via email one to two weeks after the webinar once attendance is finalized and recorded. Please note that participants must select Region 4 when they complete their Zoom registration to ensure their attendance is recorded. This session is partially funded through state and federal grants.

Important Session Information:

What do educational SLPs need to know about working with students with hearing differences? What areas of communication need to be evaluated when considering eligibility for services? How do we determine current levels when working with multiple language modalities? Come explore best practice considerations for assessments and eligibility for our D/HH students. This session will satisfy the ethics requirements for the Texas state license and for ASHA certification maintenance. This session will also satisfy ASHA’s cultural competence requirements for maintenance of certificate of clinical competence.
