Breaking Through the Barriers: Designing Lessons to Address Learner Variability

Designing a learning experience that allows every student access and success within the curriculum can be challenging for educators. Every student in a classroom has learner variability with strengths and areas of growth. During this session, participants will explore how to intentionally plan lessons to be more goal-focused and effective in meeting the needs of all learners and improve TIER 1 instruction through a lens of access, engagement, expression, and purposeful design that seeks to remove barriers within the curriculum. Participants will explore the frameworks of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Understanding By Design (UbD) across content areas.

NOTE: A prerequisite to this course is a foundational knowledge of the UDL Principles and Guidelines.
