This workshop, presented by Paul Andersen, will bridge
the gap between two critical forms of evidence: the scientific evidence
gathered through investigations and the evidence of student learning
demonstrated through aligned performance assessments. The pedagogical portion
of the day will focus on the second half of the inquiry cycle, guiding teachers
through the process of interpreting data and drawing conclusions. Teachers will
participate in hands-on investigations and engage in meaningful discourse
around authentic phenomena. Additionally, teachers will learn how to provide
focused and actionable feedback on student work using single-point rubrics,
streamlining assessment within the science and engineering practices.
