This session is designed for teachers and service providers who work with students who have Multiple Impairments with a Visual Impairment (MIVI) and students with Low Incidence Disabilities. We will explore Lilli Nielsen's concept of Active Learning, a pedagogical approach that emphasizes the importance of engaging students through hands-on experiences and self-initiated activities.
Participants will be provided with practical strategies for creating an environment that fosters exploration, curiosity, and independence. Attendees will learn how to design and implement activities that encourage active participation, sensory engagement, and skill development.
By the end of this session, educators and service providers will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to begin integrating Active Learning into their classrooms, promoting a more inclusive and effective learning experience for their students.
