School Nursing in Crisis; Stop the Bleed, Drugs on the Street, and Fentanyl Awareness - DEA




STOP THE BLEED - Participants will learn three quick techniques to help save a life before someone bleeds out and fulfill the requirement in the Texas Education Code (TEC), §38.030, as added by House Bill (HB) 496, 86th Texas Legislature, for each school district and open-enrollment charter school to receive instruction on the use of a bleeding control kit. Drugs on the Street - What drugs are defined as? How are they supplied and different forms of use? What do specific drugs do to your body and how does your body react?   Fentanyl Awareness presented by a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) representative. - The fentanyl crisis is the deadliest crisis facing America today and school campuses are not immune to its presence and effects. Participants will learn about ins and outs of fentanyl.
