Join Aimee Day for a full-day session on using Person-Centered Planning and trauma- informed care to build positive support systems. Aimee will share insights from her experiences with her son, Ty Day, as they navigated the K-12 system, his employment journey, and now his first year of college. The presentation will include recorded excerpts from Ty’s perspective.
Aimee will also lead a discussion and working session on creating one-page student profiles and how to implement them in various school settings.
Aimee Day is the Director of Person-Centered Planning & Family Outreach at the Center on Disability and Development at Texas A&M and a Person- Centered Thinking Mentor Trainer. She integrates Person-Centered Practices into all areas of her life and has presented at numerous conferences and provided training for a range of audiences, including educators, law enforcement, individuals with disabilities, families, and professionals.
Ty Day, a freshman at Blinn College studying welding and working at Wings N More, shares his story at conferences to advocate for better communication with kids. He values being seen as an equal and enjoys drawing and spending time with those who care about him.
