Wedgie Women, Toy Story, Airplanes, Elevators & More! Restricted Interests as Motivators

Restricted interests are common for students with ASD. Lots of educators are using these interests as reinforcers or motivators when tackling challenging behavior, but when teachers go beyond behavior and can implement these interests into academics, amazing things can happen! Using student interests improves engagement and ensures motivation during academics. Embedding these interests into the curriculum can motivate the student with ASD to attempt tasks that were previously less preferred or difficult.
