In this course, you will learn research skills and how to teach them to G/T students. You will learn ways of selecting research topics, how to ask provocative questions about their topics, how to create a research proposal, methods of conducting research, analysis and synthesis of data, and ways of presenting research results. You will learn how to teach your students to do all of these research activities. Learning ways to coach students at each stage of the research process, so that students become more self-reflective about their own thinking, is an integral part of the course. Objectives will be met through online research, engaging in other research-related activities, and practice in coaching students through simulated student/teacher encounters in each course section.
