School-based enterprises provide opportunities for students to develop transferable skills and gain meaningful work experience. They also raise families’ expectations for paid employment and provide opportunities to gain paid work experience, both of which are strong predictors of postsecondary success. This session will provide strategies for developing authentic, sustainable school based enterprises that prepare students to join the local workforce. From developing a business model and conducting market research to building community partnerships, monitoring student progress, and ensuring sustainability, this workshop will walk participants through all phases of program design and implementation.
Participants will receive a Work-Based Learning Program Manual, along with data collection and fidelity monitoring tools.
