Writing Impact and Needs Statements
Share
This session will facilitate the more effective use of evaluation findings when writing impact and needs statements for students with disabilities. Understanding the impact of a student’s disability on academic outcomes will lead to better identification of effective, research-based needs statements. When developing and communicating the impact and needs statements, the target audience (teachers and parents) should be considered. This allows for a seamless segue to the present levels of academic achievement and functional performance (PLAAFPs) and annual goals (both academic and functional).
