Join the Institute of Curriculum Services for a session to begin learning and planning for Holocaust Remembrance Week, which is Jan 22-26 this school year. The workshop will start with a focus on understanding the religion of Judaism. Attendees will explore the beliefs, behaviors, and experiences of the religion. The session will then move on to a study of the history of European antisemitism. Attendees will learn about the origins of antisemitism and how it has changed over time, which will include activities for classroom integration.
In the second half of the workshop, teachers will be able to begin planning for Holocaust remembrance week using the resources of the Texas Holocaust, Genocide, and Antisemitism Advisory Commission. This session is for all teachers K-12.
