G/T Online: Differentiating Instruction for G/T Students




In this course, you will learn about traditional methods of reaching gifted students as well as newly developed methods. You will learn what differentiation truly means and what it should look like for gifted students. You will also learn what is required by Texas law for the design of curricula for gifted students and what best instructional practices should be followed. You will contribute ideas to the discussion board, share your own experiences, and research related information. You will take a 10-question test at the end of the course.

This workshop meets the state mandate (19 TAC 89.2(1) specifically Section 4.1.1C of the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students for teachers working toward the state required 30 hours of training for gifted educators.

This is a self-paced online session through the Canvas Instructure System.

Important Dates & Info:

  • The course ends on May 31, 2025. Complete all work by this date to receive credit for the Spring 2025 semester.
  • Unfinished students must register for the Summer 2025 session, running from May 31 to September 1. You will need to restart all coursework, as previous work will be archived.
