Grades 5-8 Science Academy Part 2




The purpose of the Academy is to explore ways to improve overall science instruction and achievement in order to meet and/or exceed grade level standards and to ensure postsecondary readiness. Participants will engage in hands-on, student-centered lessons that are framed in the research-based 5E instructional model and aligned to the science Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). In addition, the session will provide connections to, and strengthen participants’ knowledge of, the College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS), English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS), and Response to Intervention (RtI). The training this summer will prepare you for instruction TEA style.
