These are the afternoon breakout sessions for the 2019 Migrant Health Resource Conference. Group 1: Impact of trauma; Folk medicine and home remedies; Introduction to mental health Group 2: Secondary traumatic stress; Apps and Social Media; Connecting children & adolescents to mental health care. Group 3: Suicide Prevention; Food safety for farmworker families; Identifying the Warning Signs of Students at Risk of Harming Themselves or Others; Cultural Competencies (Held in High Plains)

Important Workshop Information:


This session will focus on defining Secondary Traumatic Stress, & related conditions, identifying strategies to build resiliency to STS, and verbalizing ways to implement the ABC's of prevention. Social Work CEU credits are available for this course.
