FBAs & BIPs: Moving Beyond Checklists
Share
Behavior is always at the forefront of everyone’s mind. When things are difficult and we need to turn to an FBA and BIP, many people tend to get anxious. In this session we will discuss things to consider when conducting an FBA, including how to do an FBA on the adults and environment before the child, the areas to look at outside of the educational setting, and how the brain develops behaviors. The development of the BIP will also be a major component of this session and will include: elements to consider for a strong BIP (not a checklist), how to use brain research to develop better interventions and supports, how to consider all areas and settings, how to adjust support in each area, and much more!
