Trainings: Session Detail

Dig Deeper! Using the 4 Question Method in Social Studies (Part 2)

Social studies is much more than regurgitating names and dates. While learning the content is critical, social studies teachers must also develop civic-minded critical thinkers. How can we do both?  In this two-part series, attendees will learn how to use the 4 Question Method to design units and lessons that combine both content and critical thinking. In this second session, we will delve into the final two questions of the method: "Why then and there?" and "What do we think about that?"

We will start off with a quick review of Part 1. By the end of this session, teachers will have designed a unit that will complete the 4Q process of developing students who understand the content but also think deeply about it as well. Even if you missed Part 1, feel free to attend. All K-12 teachers are invited!
